Country Guitar Vocabulary
I´ll show you all the material you need to play great country guitar. From chord voicings, to arpeggios, to triads and their inversions, to playing in 3rds and 6ths, to double stops, repetitive licks and scales.
I´ll show you the best and fastest ways to get your fingers up to speed, to play clean and in time. I'll teach you techniques such as hammer-ons, pull-offs, (pre-) bends, slides, vibrato as well as rhythm patterns such as playing in triplets.
Soloing & Improvising
I'll teach you how to improvise and come up with your own solos. We´ll look at playing fill in lines between the vocals and how to embellish chords.
Rhythm / Playing Songs
I'll teach you how to play your favorite songs and how to apply various rhythm concepts. I'll show you how to play "behind" the singer and how to emulate lead instr. such as Pedal Steel and Fiddle.
I'll teach you exactly as much Theory as you wish. Music Theory knowledge is not necessary to be a great player - But it opens up a whole new world and makes music so much more fun - Knowing the Nashville Number System is a game changer. l´Il show you.
Gear / Practice Tips
I'll show you how to get that typical country sound: from choosing the right picks, to pedals, amps and pickups to how to attack the strings. We´ll talk about how to practice best. You can advance more in half the time if you practice "right".

Here's what Andrea's students say
«One of the best decisions I've ever made as a musician was to subscribe for guitar lessons with Andrea Benz. Not only do I owe her great respect for her as a fantastic guitarist, but also as a lovely person - and as an extremely empathetic teacher. It's not every day that you find someone who is touring and playing with established musicians, but still finds time and patience to teach guitar students! Andrea works with an extremely structured approach, is always well prepared for the lessons and knows very quickly which next steps are necessary to take you further.
She teaches skills in a very motivating way, so that progress is quickly audible. Not only my band members, but also the audience at the concerts notice the further development, which provides additional motivation for me. By the way, if anyone has ever had any reservations about taking lessons over the Internet – don't worry! You can even work together perfectly via Zoom and the like. It also helps me that I can record the lessons and listen to and practice the new things I've learned, such as licks and scales, at my leisure. I look forward to every lesson with Andrea. There couldn't be a better compliment, could it?».
